Think PINK

About two weeks ago I had the most amazing weekend.
I spent the weekend walking 60 miles….for a cause.

It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but it was also one of the most gratifying things. To know that I was part of something so much bigger than myself… together we were helping to raise money to hopefully one day find a cure for breast cancer.  It was truly a 3 day celebration of life, love and strength, along with a few aches, pains, and blisters.

This year about 2,400 men and woman participated in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure walk in Atlanta.  In order to participate each person had to raise a  minimum of $2,300 in donations. All net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.

An luckily, with the help of my family, friends, and co-workers donations
I was able to raise $2,552!

And so the walk began! Thousands of participants dressed head to toe in PINK.  To those passing us, unsure of what was taking place, it looked like Halloween hit Georgia a little bit early this year.
Everyone was dressed to impress… pink beards, pink tutus, pink eyelashes, pink, pink, pink!

The walk began in Lake Lanier and ended at Turner Field…OH yes that’s right.  I walked with my friend Jenna [who will forever now be known as my breastie, for obvious reasons ;}] and I have to say…we completely underestimated how hard walking 60 miles would be.
