Sleepless...in Atlanta

I really need to stop doing this to myself.

I blame my dad…. And the Lifetime channel.

Over the Christmas holiday, my dad bought me “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” the bestselling crime novel by the late author and journalist Stieg Larsson.... filled with murder, mystery and all that jazz.

This book, like any other I start, consumed me.  Once I started, there was no turning back and I finished it within the next 3 or 4 days.  Immediately it had my attention and kept me on my toes.  Although, at the same time when I went to bed, I could not escape the scary events that were taking place in the book…these mental images and characters started to trickle into my dreams.

Every night I was woken up by a different nightmare... sometimes more than one in the same night.  Reading a story about crime…murder… all the words that make me shiver, right before going to bed was not the best idea I've had.

On top of it, Stone and I have been watching a lot of Forensic File type shows and of course last night was no different. We made sure to tune in for the Lifetime movie: The Craigslist Killer.

Thanks Lifetime.  I thought I was finally in the clear.  I had finished my book the day before and was looking forward to getting a good nights sleep.

But no, this movie, which of course is based on true events (UGHH!) crept into my dreams and I woke up in a fright, completely drenched in sweat.  Luckily Stone was there to bring me back to reality.

I’d like to say tonight will be a nightmare free night….however “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” happens to be the first in a trilogy by the author and thanks to my dad and stone I now own the two others.  Unfortunately for my tired body, I know it will be impossible for me to stay away from reading them… so I’m just going to have to power through and start sleeping with the light on.

I can totally relate! I am consumed by DEXTER! It is about a killer who kills other killers! Mwahaha
I have watched so many espidoes that I am starting to dream about Dexter. Maybe I will watch something funny on TV tonight...
