Time Flies

February.... why does it have to be so short!?

So begins my mental countdown until the arrival of spring training.  Come the beginning of March, baseball season will arrive and carry my boyfriend away until September.  This is really nothing I want to count down the remaining days to but I can’t seem to turn it off!

Goodbye sweet offseason, I hate to see you go

For most baseball players, the offseason runs from the beginning/middle of September to the beginning of March.

I have been a very happy girl having Stone back.  It has been so nice to spend time together with no baseball, no practice, no long distance.  Just us…it’s so normal.  Normal is so nice!

I’ve learned the baseball lifestyle is not for the weak of heart… it is a long season.  And it definitely continues to challenge me.

Over the weekend I read the below quote by Maya Angelo that really stuck with me….

"If you don't like something, change it.  If you can't change it, change your attitude"

Of course I don't like that my boyfriend has to be away for so long... but I also know I can’t change it.  And why would I want to when he is going after his dream?

Rather, I’m attempting to change my attitude.  Now this is a work in progress… I'm not sure if I will ever have it down perfectly, but sometimes your greatest pains become your greatest strengths.

Soon it will be back to phone calls, skyping, and stalking box scores, but for now I’m going to enjoy my time with Stone in the present

hey sweets, thanks for your lovely comment and what a nice post. being apart from your loved one is hard but it helps your love grow, your feelings to grow deeper and for one to learn to truly appreciate every minute together.

Seems like it would be a hard lifestyle, but a lot of fun too!

Such a positive and uplifting post! My boyfriend lives in another country so I know the pain you must feel when he's away from you.
