tuscaloosa

we spent this past weekend in Tuscaloosa with some of our lovely friends
and got pretend we were in college again.
and well, i am exhausted.
tailgating for 12+ hours will do that to you.

but it was also a perfect time to be in Tuscaloosa
because, Oklahoma lost to Iowa State.
thereforeeee ranking Alabama #2
thereforeee maybe hopefully playing in the  National Championship! {knock on wood}
and well, this all made the people of Tuscaloosa oh so happy.

so i got to hang out with my brother who also came in town
and play with old friends
and drink yellow hammers
and say roll tide to strangers.
some things never change. i really hope they don't, at least.

boyfriend                                                                                            my brother, the rock star

crimson cafe! the same thing i order every.single.time

stones neighborhood                                                             these photos are kind of a buzz kill, right?

parts of Tuscaloosa are still hurting after the Tornado this past spring.
we couldn't believe our eyes when we went by Austins old neighborhood.
it was gone.
those 5 streets lined with houses.
gone.
his house, where he asked me to be his little ole gf
gone.

sometimes, you can't help but wonder what would have happened if we had been there.
but that thought is usually followed up by another.
we are so very lucky and blessed to have not.

i love tuscaloosa.

I'm glad you had such a fun weekend! I've always wanted to go to a game in T-Town after everything I've heard. And maybe seeing his old neighborhood was the perfect Thanksgiving reminder of how lucky you are. The house may not be there, but you still have all the photos and the memories.

Wow. I am soo thankful you weren't there. It's hard to believe that even with all these months gone by it still looks like that.

On a happier note, love your outfit and that you got to re-live college for the weekend!
